The Unnamable Fine Art Prints
Berkeley Bonaparte was a Bay Area poster art company founded in 1967 by The “Big Five” who had developed a following designing posters to advertise local rock concerts or dances as they were called at the time, promoted by Bill Graham and the Family Dog, at the Fillmore Auditorium and Avalon Ballroom. Many of these posters, for shows that are now the stuff of legend, became the backbone of the Berkeley Bonaparte line. While the company (or “collective,” as the owners described it) wasn’t the first to sell posters, it did popularized the practice within youth culture, and the explosive colors and subversive flourishes virtually defined the psychedelic style. “The Unnamable” Poster by Rick Griffin was Published by Berkeley Bonaparte in 1968, the original lithograph poster measured 23 x 35 inches.
Limited edition prints will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and Rick Griffin Estate Stamp.
